Intelligent Wine Storage System

WineM is a smart wine storage system that tracks information about its contents. It knows what wine is in the rack, where it is, and details about each bottle through custom RFID tags. An owner simply uses any wireless device, with the companion application, to search through their collection - indicating choices such as year, region, price, appelationl etc. In real time, full color LED lights within each wine cell indicate the chosen selections in a visual, dynamic manner. Additionally, WineM can connect to web-based information – your wine can email you when your collection is running low on a specific vintage, it can text you when your favorite wine critic recommends one of your bottles, or it can tell you when your favorite appellation is on sale. WineM projects the wine's “information shadow” back onto its physical form, projecting immaterial information onto the physical objects themselves.
