Accent Table

Built from reclaimed chair seats, these stools cut and combine pieces creating an equation for a form found in the positive of the negative. Add two old seat tops, subtract material as needed, produce one sly new stool. For this stool, math is fun! Part of a designer-in-residence program with St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda in-which reclaimed materials are pulled from the waste stream of thrift store donations, re-purposed into new products which are then produced via simple manufacturing techniques, in limited run, through a service that hires and retrains people with barriers to employment.
