One Eye Open Credenza
Reclaimed wood from old bed frames make up the striking colors of this credenza. A geometric pattern woven of naturally hand-dyed wool, outlines a round “eye” window on a single sliding door, creating an asymmetric relationship of open exposure and hidden disguise.
Always keep one eye open, peering into the world.
Part of a designer-in-residence program with St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda in-which reclaimed materials are pulled from the waste stream of thrift store donations, re-purposed into new products which are then produced via simple manufacturing techniques, in limited run, through a service that hires and retrains people with barriers to employment. |
