Side Table & Bowl

Employing the unique properties of material and adapting traditional hand craft technique, the Mais ou Menos side table and bowl use a wet-molding process to form three dimensional surfaces in leather. Born in a city with an eight-decade tradition of leather - once a primary industry in the town, now carried on by a handful of legacy artisans - the design of the table features an integrated bowl formed into the surface, along with a matching bowl which can nest within the depressed surface or travel elsewhere for other uses. Through a program connecting design, traditional hand craft, and new markets, Mais ou Menos products are produced by the leather craft artisans of Pratania, Brazil with the assistance of StraaT and with the support of a CCA Student Center Grant.
