FloraFauna Tabletop Objects
FloraFauna set of bowls and trays are hand made leather of vegetable tanned leather (sourced from a tannery that uses leather from beef bi-product). They retain their rigid structure and unique patina purely through a process of alternately heating and wetting the leather. Color is controlled through the skillful application of those two elements – creating distinctive markings that correspond to the anomalies of each individual piece of leather. This, in combination with the organic shaping, reincarnate a bit of visual life back into this once living material.
For Bevara Design House, as an extension of work developed with the leather craft artisans of Pratania, Brazil.
