Accent Table

Collected table, bench, and chair legs have been reconstituted into a (literal) conversation piece. Inspired by tightly stacked firewood, this coffee table made of five components, sits still in silence until friends and family gather, then pull apart the pieces, use them as individual seats, and enjoy your own fireside chat. FDR would be proud. Part of a designer-in-residence program with St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda in-which reclaimed materials are pulled from the waste stream of thrift store donations, re-purposed into new products which are then produced via simple manufacturing techniques, in limited run, through a service that hires and retrains people with barriers to employment.
